Below are answers to frequently asked tax preparation questions of the staff here at Ball & Minor CPA, PA. If you have other questions we encourage you to contact us and we’ll do our best to respond promptly.
Can we get our refund immediately?
No, we do not offer Refund Anticipation Loans. We electronically file all individual tax returns we prepare. This allows you to typically receive your Federal refund in one to two weeks if you authorize the IRS to direct deposit your refund to your checking or savings account.
Can you take the tax preparation fee out of our refund?
No, unfortunately we cannot. Since we do not process Refund Anticipation Loans, we require payment when we complete your tax return.
Can you prepare individual returns with multiple states?
Yes, we can prepare returns for clients who need to file a tax return in more than one state. We have the ability to file returns for all states that have an income tax.
Do you prepare our tax return while we wait?
No we do not. We generally meet with clients in our office or have a phone consultation to discuss the past year’s financial events. After that meeting, we strive to have the client’s completed tax return to them within two weeks. This allows the client to gather any information they did not bring to the initial meeting. We believe this process allows us to maximize the accuracy of the return and assure the client has taken advantage of all deductions available under the law.
Do we have to meet with you or can we just drop our information off at your office?
You are welcome to drop your information off at either our Fuquay-Varina or Garner office and we will contact you with any questions we may have concerning your return. Many returning clients prefer this option.
How much do you charge to prepare an individual tax return?
It is difficult to provide a firm quote for tax return preparation since every return is different. However, return prices begin at $500.
